Parts of it made me weep and many of the things you say are hard to listen to in this day and age.
I think the (queer not gay) community in London is very protective towards our trans brothers and sisters. Personally it isn't difficult if you come from a place of love.
It's also about tolerance- the Kink scene taught us tolerance.
All I can say is that the more they try to dim our lights the bright we must shine.
Thank you so much! The name was on the tip of my tongue. Thank you so much for listening, Andrea. A lot of what I said felt very difficult to say, and I had to hold back some tears, but I’m proud of myself for getting it out. We must all look after one another. There is no LGB without the TQ+.
I very much agree with you - other writers can and should be used as an inspiration, but if one begins to copy, then one's not a writer anymore, but a machine. Also quite happy to hear that you're an intuitive writer! I'd definitely describe myself as such, too. You don't need an academic background or a PhD in Creative Writing to listen to your soul (and the world around you) and put all that energy into writing.
Also thanks for shedding light on how things "work" in Turkey and what truth actually means. I had the same feeling when watching Emin Alper's "Burning Days" when it came out. Elif Shafak also said once that it's very hard to live in a city (Istanbul) that exists in the shadow of an empire.
Can't wait to hear the rest of it! Cheers from a neighboring Bulgarian.
Thank you so much, Evgeniy. I appreciate your comment here. You're right. I just resent that writing and education is made to seem mutually exclusive. You're most welcome. Thank you.
Wow, thanks for being as honest in answering these questions as you are in your writing. It was an honor to get to listen to and peer into your world through the Q + As. Blessing Füsun!
Wow, it felt like such a privilege to listen to this. Thank you for your trust and for letting us in. You speak like you write---with raw honesty and pure eloquence. That's something very rare and a treat to be present with. Thank you!
Thank you Füsun, for answering our questions and sharing your experiences. I've listened twice this evening and will listen again. Thank you for being here. You really are touching people in their hearts by sharing your experiences and thoughts.
it was Julie Andrews - Sound of Music
What an honest and beautiful post.
